There are many different types of fee structures recruiters use. Either it is a flat fee or a percentage of the employees annual salary. When charging a flat fee, it is determined based on the salary of that position. The employee never pays the headhunters fee, it is always billed to the company that hired the recruiter to find the candidate.

  • Percentage of annual salary recruiter fee is between 18% and 35% - Most headhunters offer a gaurentee the new hire will work out for a specified time frame.

  • Flat Fees Recruitment can cost as low as $5000 for entry level jobs to as high as $50,000 for executive jobs.

  • Retained Recruiters are paid a monthly fee to recruit for one or multiple jobs.

  • Contract Recruiters are paid based on the hours that the contract employee works.

  • Executive Search consultants charge either retainers or percentage fee.
